Just a little nursery-rhymish poem...
When I was just a little girl around age nine or ten
I went a wand'ring 'round the woods away from home and kin.
While creeping through the forest like the little rogue I'd be,
I came upon a mantis fast asleep beneath a tree.
So quietly I snuck behind and pulled its pointy tail!
I laughed and started running 'til I heard the mantis wail:
"Cruel child!" it cried, "Why must you come disturb me from my rest?"
I stopped and turned around and shrugged, "Well you were there, I guess."
It shuffled through the underbrush, the distance 'tween us closed.
"And now I'm here," it said, "You will attack me, I suppose."
Bright golden eyes glared down at me, I swallowed in slight fear.
"N-no," I stammered, "That's okay, I'll keep my peace right here."
The mantis seemed to grin as it could sense I was afraid,
"Perhaps a little lesson for the pain you've caused today!"
It grabbed me by the collar, lifted me high off the ground -
It brought me to its face and made a nasty, gnashing sound.
My arms were flailing frantically - its teeth grew far too close,
I gathered all my courage up and thwapped it on the nose!
Onto the ground I tumbled in a mess of limbs and hair.
I peered up at the mantis and I swear it shed a tear.
"I wasn't going to eat you," said the mantis with a sigh.
It slowly turned and crept away nursing its wounded pride.
I hurried home and felt a pang of sympathy inside -
I knew that I would ne'er forget the day the mantis cried.
An unimportant little rogue. :)

the definition of "eek"
The word "eek" sometimes said "eeeeek" is a word, usually meaning surprise or scared...sometimes people say "ick" or "iiiiick", this is wrong. "iiiiick" or "icck" or "Iccckkkk" usually means disgust or something of the like...like when I read Kublai's post sometimes I say "icccck" and when a wolf attacks me I say "eeeek" you can see the difference bettween both. If you want to show your surprise at a disgusting thing you might say "ieek" or "iieeeckk" these words are what every other words are based on! they are the fundamentals of the language so you better learn them well! Hail "eek" and "iiiick"!!

((King Bruce the Bruce has revealed more about his pet dog, Ghislain, and its peculiar talents.
This dog was raised on the finest Undine children. It is trained to devour Undinians on sight, and will do so savagely and with glee.
Ghislain is also the fleshly host for Azathoth, the obscenity at the centre of the universe, the greatest Outer God who pulsates at center of all things, eternally, outside all time and touching all space, as its many flesh-flutes pipe tunes for the lesser Outer Gods to dance perverse, maddening dances to.
Ghislain will frequently have to be walked and given suppositories, as he has a nasty case of worms. The caretaker will have to penetrate the dog's anus deeply, in order for the suppositories to take.
Once per day, you can tell Ghislain to summon Nyarelohtep, the soul of Azathoth. Doing this takes 10/10d10 sanity points and raises your Cthulu Mythos knowledge by 1%.
Ghislain will also display the following behaviors:
1) Urinating on your friends legs.
2) Humping your leg at the most embarrasing times possible.
3) Heat period - at times Ghislain will run off and mate with wolves. There is a 50% chance that when he reappears, a magic weilding hideous hybrid of dog, wolf, and Azathoth will follow and attack all those in the area.
4) Poop time - Occasionally Ghislain will have to go poo. You must walk him then (he will indicate it to you) or he will unleash his obscene, maddening nature and give you to the Mi-Go, the Fungi from Yuggoth, and seek a new master.
When Ghislain goes poo, you can grow hallucinogenic mushrooms on the poo itself, which will cause Dark Ages and Windows to crash after turning all sorts of funny colors.More features will be announced later.))

Regarding Guard's Uniforms
The purpose of reducing an aisling's intelligence while in uniform is to discourage them from hunting in it. Or perhaps it is a delicate comment on the need for officials to depend upon each other and make collective, rather than individual, decisions.I'm not sure. Let me put my Corsette on instead of my bliaut and think about it some more. *grins*
